RePOST : Camera Angles

Camera angles are the most significant elements in creating illusion of scenic depths or which angle the object is photographed.

Did you know that a specific camera angle could build a relationship from the viewer and the subject? It's good to know what angles should you use on certain events so that the message you would want to convey will definitely be the right message the viewer will get.

Here is a list of camera angles you may use with its corresponding meaning:
1. The bird's eye-view - this angle enables the viewers to feel superior and god-like for they feel like watching from a-top. This angle shows a scene directly overhead and at most, this is considered to be a bizarre angle. Things, objects and people seen in this angle will be unfamiliar and unrecognizable as seen for the first time.
2. High Angle - This angle is not so extreme as the first angle. The objects appearing from this angle may be seen as a part of a wider picture, smaller and less significant.
3. Eye level- the camera is placed five to six feet from the ground and enables the viewers to see as though they are real human observing the scene.
4. Low angle - this angle gives an inferior impression for the viewers. It gives them a sense of confusion and less power on the viewer's part.
5. Oblique or canted angle - in this case, the camera is tilted suggesting imbalance, instability usually used in horror movies. This is also used in point-of-view shots where the camera is used as the actual eyes of the particular character.
6. An image that slants to the right - this angle suggests force.
7. An image that slants to the left - this angles suggests weakness and static
It is very important to think of your angle before you shoot the image so that the desired image will be attained.
